EdVentures, a Giza-based corporate venture capital firm specialising in education, culture, and innovative learning solutions, has won the Investor of the Year award at the Global Grand Finale (Edition 11) of the Global Startup Awards, which is held as part of the EU-Startups Summit 2026 in Malta.
Founded in 2012, the Global Startup Startup (GSA) is the world’s largest startup ecosystem platform, which covers 154 countries worldwide. The GSA discovers and empowers high-growth and innovative entrepreneurs and their startups through global competitions, events, collaboration, and community. The global finalists were selected following the processing of more than 70,000 nominations, extensive jury evaluations, and regional competitions spanning six continents.

Founded in 2017, EdVentures is Egypt and MENA’s leading EdTech VC, incubator and accelerator. It was launched as the venture arm of Nahdet Misr Group, a pioneer in the education sector.
Its mission is to support the development of high-impact startups in education, culture and innovative learning solutions through institutional support, funding, industry know-how, and tailored programmes. EdVentures invests in EdTech startups in the pre-Seed and Seed stages. It has supported over 66 startups and invested in 14 startups, and created over 10,000 jobs.
EdVentures was one of the 15 winners of Global Startup Awards Africa Continental Finale – Edition 11, where the VC firm was named Investor of the Year. The GSA Africa Finale, in collaboration with the Global Innovation Initiative Group (GIIG), UVU Africa, and Global Startup Cities, was held during The Unique Summit in Cape Town on November 19, 2024.
It honoured 15 transformative startups and ecosystem leaders from across the continent. These winners will now advance to the Global Grand Finale of Edition 11.
GSA Africa was founded in 2020 under the Global Startup Awards umbrella. It is the African continent’s largest startup competition. GSA Africa drives SDG-aligned innovation, empowering the next generation of African leaders through the GIIG Africa Fund and pan-African collaboration.
