AMSOL (African Marine Solutions), the Cape Town-headquartered marine services company, has selected Zycus to run sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and payments on a single platform.
The Zycus platform will streamline the procurement process by replacing email and disconnected tools with one unified system.
According to the company, it works well in low-connectivity environments, allowing seafarers to raise requests from ships and enabling shore-based finance and category teams to use the same system.
The platform utilises Agentic AI to analyse spending, identify savings opportunities, benchmark performance, manage contracts, and track obligations.
For routine purchases, automated negotiation tools engage suppliers and secure better pricing with minimal human involvement.
Also, it will replace paper-based supplier onboarding with a self-service portal that includes compliance and governance checks.
“AMSOL is reimagining how a growing African marine services enterprise buys, contracts, and works with suppliers, and doing it on an agentic foundation from day one,” said Aatish Dedhia, founder and CEO of Zycus.
Founded by Aatish Dedhia, Zycus specialises in procurement solutions. It helps businesses improve their purchasing processes by delivering effective outcomes instead of just handling transactions.
Zycus uses advanced technology, including AI, to streamline procurement from start to finish and to find savings for its customers.
Led by Dan Ngakane, AMSOL is the only marine solutions provider in the region that is employee- and management-owned.
The company serves clients across the energy, ports, mining, and maritime sectors with services, including vessel management, towage, marine emergency response, bunkering, offshore terminal management, and offshore supply and support.
Its workforce is split between corporate offices on shore and vessels operating at sea across southern Africa.
“This marks an important step in AMSOL’s procurement transformation journey as we move towards a more integrated and structured operating model. Our focus is on establishing a platform that supports both our shore-based teams and our vessel operations, while improving data visibility, governance, and decision-making over time,” said Kenneth Molomo, chief information officer of AMSOL.
