All On and Energise Africa have announced a $4 million investment in Maskh Nigeria Limited to expand solar-powered mini-grids across 19 communities in Jigawa and Bauchi states.
Maskh Nigeria Limited is a company that provides services in renewable energy, construction, engineering, electrification, and procurement. It has experience working with both public and private sector organisations.
The investment will support the development and deployment of renewable energy infrastructure to provide reliable and affordable electricity to households, businesses, schools, health facilities, and other public institutions that currently lack dependable power access.
The project is being funded through the Demand Aggregation for Renewable Energy Technology (DART) Programme and is expected to reach nearly 100,000 people across the two states.
It will also support local businesses, productive-use customers and community economic activity while reducing reliance on conventional energy sources.
Qaim Mahmood, Director of Operations (Head of Renewable Energy Projects), Maskh Nigeria Limited, said: “As an indigenous company, we are proud that these 19 mini-grids will impact almost 100,000 people, helping businesses thrive, improving essential services and creating opportunities for the next generation. This investment also marks a transformative step for Maskh, strengthening our capacity, creating jobs, and positioning us for greater opportunities.”
The solar mini-grid programme is expected to provide electricity to almost 100,000 people while supporting small businesses and productive-use activities. According to the company, improved access to reliable power could also benefit schools, health facilities and other essential community services.
All On Partnerships for Energy Access is an independent impact investment company seeded by Shell to support the development of Nigeria’s off-grid energy sector.
The organisation provides debt, equity and non-financial support to Nigerian energy companies developing renewable energy solutions for households and small businesses.
All On focuses on expanding access to affordable, reliable and sustainable electricity while helping indigenous energy companies scale their operations.
The project comes as decentralised energy solutions continue to play a growing role in addressing electricity access challenges in underserved parts of Nigeria.
By deploying solar mini-grids, Maskh will provide communities with a more consistent source of electricity while creating opportunities for businesses and essential services to expand their operations.
Caroline Eboumbou, CEO of All On, said: “Energy access is not simply about connecting communities to electricity; it is about creating the conditions for people and businesses to thrive. This investment demonstrates All On’s commitment to backing indigenous energy companies that can deliver practical, scalable solutions to some of Nigeria’s most persistent energy access challenges. This is the kind of catalytic investment that can help move Nigeria’s energy transition forward in practical and meaningful ways.”

Since its launch in 2017, the platform has raised more than £50 million for over 250 projects. Investors can fund bonds issued by clean energy companies, with investments starting from £50.
Energise Africa was established as a joint venture between UK impact investment platform Ethex and Netherlands-based Lendahand and is now wholly owned by Ethex.
Ray Coyle, CEO of Energise Africa, said, “By helping to bring clean, reliable power to nineteen communities across Jigawa and Bauchi States, UK investors are supporting lasting social, economic and environmental impact that will benefit thousands of people in Nigeria.”
The announcement comes four days after All On launched the Innovation Ecosystem Development Programme (AO-IEDP), a 12-month initiative designed to accelerate the growth of clean energy start-ups and entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
