Absolute, an Indian AI-led biosolutions company, has started commercial operations in Kenya through its agricultural arm, INERA. This is the company’s first move into Africa as part of a wider plan to sell regenerative farming products across major farming regions.

INERA has teamed up with a Kenyan agriculture firm that specialises in flowers, herbs, and horticulture to distribute and sell its products in Kenya.

They are launching six biological products focused on Biological Nutrition Management and Plant Physiology and Climate Resilience. These products aim to enhance nutrient absorption in crops and help them withstand heat and water stress.

Kenya will act as a base for INERA’s expansion into East and West Africa, with more launches planned through 2026 and 2027. The company also plans to grow its business in the US and Southeast Asia over the same period.

“Africa will be one of the world’s most important agricultural regions over the coming decades, but its productivity gains cannot come from simply replicating input-intensive models built elsewhere. The opportunity is to help farmers produce more from every acre while using nutrients and water more intelligently and rebuilding soil biology. Kenya is our first step towards taking Absolute’s AI and biology platform to farmers across Africa and, ultimately, globally,” said Agam Khare, Founder and Group CEO of Absolute.

Absolute builds its products using two of its own technology platforms. The first, called Nature Intelligence Platform (NIP), is a library of thousands of microbes, biomolecules, and enzymes collected from natural environments such as glaciers, volcanic sites, and deserts.

The second, Nature+, is an AI system that studies this biological data to predict how molecules behave and to help design new candidates for testing.

Absolute combines two platforms to transform biological findings from nature into targeted farming solutions. Their product range includes microbials, peptides, proteins, and RNAi, which are developed into crop nutrition, biostimulants, seed coatings, and biocontrol products.

INERA has conducted over 50,000 field trials and demonstrations on more than 100 acres across 10 agro-climatic zones, collaborating with companies like Olam, ADAMA, ITC, CropNxt, and Jubilant.
