Cairo-based professional networking startup BrainsMingle has raised a $400,000 strategic Seed investment from BasharSoft Group, Egypt’s largest human capital technology company. The Seed funding comes as the company looks to scale its AI-driven, video-first platform for experts and professionals worldwide. The Seed round marks BasharSoft’s first strategic investment since it acquired iCareer last year.
BasharSoft Group, Egypt and the wider MENA region’s leading human capital technology institution, operates the flagship platforms WUZZUF and Forasna alongside iCareer and Recruitera, and collectively serves more than 9 million users across its properties. It has connected over 9 million job seekers with more than 100,000 companies and facilitated over 1.4 million hires across Egypt and the Arab world since it was founded in 2009.
Founded by Belal Amin and Yousef Gamal, BrainsMingle is an AI-driven, video-first professional network built around live human interaction rather than static feeds or profiles. The platform allows experts to deliver live sessions, manage bookings and payments, and build communities, while professionals can discover mentors, join peer conversations, and grow their careers, all from a single hub.
The company says it has already attracted professionals and communities from more than 90 countries, and that organisations, universities, accelerators and enterprises use it as a branded internal hub for mentorship, learning and networking, in effect replacing traditional Learning Management Systems.
The investment is intended to fuel BrainsMingle’s push to unite professionals across technology, entrepreneurship, creative industries and beyond onto a single connected network, consolidating tools that experts currently cobble together from platforms such as Zoom, Calendly, Skool, Circle and LinkedIn.
