Zeal, an Egyptian-UK-based payments technology company, has raised $10 million in a new funding round, taking its total funding to $14 million. The company is not disclosing the investors in this round.

“A card payment should be the start of a more useful customer relationship. The hard part is connecting the fragmented infrastructure behind the counter. We have spent years working across that ecosystem. With signed acquirer contracts covering more than four million card machines, this funding supports the next 24 months of activation and the next stage of Zeal’s growth,” said Omar Ebeid, co-founder and CEO of Zeal.

Founded by Omar Ebeid and Belal Mohamed, Zeal helps businesses set up loyalty programs, understand customer behavior, and monitor the health of merchant operations at payment terminals.

The FinTech company partners with acquirers, payment service providers, ISOs, and merchants to enhance the checkout experience and provide valuable information for managing their operations.

“A useful product at checkout depends on the infrastructure underneath it. Our work is to connect terminal journeys, loyalty and merchant insight across different payment environments, so partners can bring a consistent proposition to their merchants,” said Belal Mohamed, co-founder and CTO of Zeal.

Merchants can set up stamps or points, add phone-number capture, or link an existing loyalty engine. The same system gives payment providers a clearer view of their merchant base through Merchant Health, which flags changes in transaction volume, terminal activity, payment declines and trading inactivity.

Zeal’s earlier backers include Raed Ventures, Pinnacle Capital and CUR8 Capital. The company was named Team of the Year at the UK FinTech Awards 2026, where Mohamed was named Innovator of the Year.

The new funding will support that rollout, deepen integrations across payment environments, and expand the tools merchants and payment providers use to understand their businesses.

Payment terminals are evolving into platforms that host business applications, enabling merchants to integrate loyalty programs and gain customer insights at checkout. The challenge is providing these features work across various payment systems while maintaining strong relationships with payment processors.

Merchants want loyalty solutions that align with customer payment preferences and also provide insights to improve their business. Payment providers must offer more than just transaction processing.

Zeal partners with payment acquirers to integrate its services with existing terminal setups, focusing on the specific needs of merchants. Contracts are signed, with implementation planned over the next 24 months.
