Konecta, a global customer experience (CX) and digital services provider, has reaffirmed Egypt’s role as a core hub for its digital innovation strategy, with the opening of a new regional headquarters in New Cairo. The Madrid-headquartered company, which employs over 109,000 people across 28 countries, said the facility now serves clients across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

The company’s journey in Egypt began with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) to launch operations and establish its headquarters in New Cairo, backed by an investment of roughly $100 million. In the eighteen months since, the company said its Egypt team has grown to 600 skilled professionals and is on track to reach 800 by the end of 2026, with a long-term target of 3,000 employees.

Egypt is not just a delivery location for Konecta, it is our regional headquarters and home to our first global Centre of Excellence for Generative AI. Growing to 600 professionals, and to 800 by the end of this year, reflects both the depth of Egyptian talent and the confidence our global clients place in AI-powered digital customer experience delivered from Cairo,” said Ahmed El Harany, Vice Chairman Middle East and Africa, Konecta.

Central to the New Cairo campus is Konecta’s first global Centre of Excellence (CoE) for AI, the first such facility across the entire Konecta Group, positioning Egyptian talent at the centre of the company’s worldwide AI strategy. The Cairo CoE designs, builds, and deploys generative AI and agentic AI solutions, including Konecta’s recently launched Kolibri platform, which supports the group’s global delivery operations and more than 500 major clients.

In a press statement, the company confirmed that the teams based there deliver AI-powered digital customer experience, technical support, and digital transformation services in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

The hub is also demonstrating its capabilities on the ground: Konecta said it supports enterprise clients such as Lenovo from Egypt, having launched e-commerce operations for the tech company in September 2025, with discussions now under way to expand into customer experience business process outsourcing (BPO) and AI-enabled service capabilities.

Konecta’s expansion in Egypt is part of its broader Katalyst 2028 strategic plan, which is supported by €150 million in global funding to accelerate the rollout of generative AI. Through its ongoing partnership with ITIDA, the company with €2 billion in global revenue from more than 500 clients is betting on Egypt and the local tech talent to anchor both service delivery and future growth.

Konecta’s inauguration of its regional headquarters in Cairo reflects the successes achieved in building an integrated ecosystem for the outsourcing industry, capable of attracting global investments and delivering high-value digital services to global markets,” said Raafat Hendy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
