AI accounting startup Tyms has integrated its platform with Seedstars’ SIGMA system, giving entrepreneurs in participating Seedstars programmes access to automated bookkeeping and financial reporting.

Tyms has built an integration that plugs directly into SIGMA, the platform Seedstars uses to support the programmes it runs for founders in emerging markets. Through this integration, eligible entrepreneurs across several continents will be able to generate financial records without prior accounting knowledge.

Many entrepreneurs have the business data, but not the financial records they need to make decisions or speak to lenders and investors. Connecting Tyms with SIGMA gives eligible founders in participating programs a practical way to turn that information into usable financial statements,” said Pierre-Alain Masson, CEO and co-founder of Seedstars.

The integration is easy to use, where participants can upload a bank statement and have transactions automatically categorised. They can also snap a photo of a receipt or describe a transaction in plain language. Once uploaded, they can get real-time income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements as data comes in, and ask Adam questions about their own numbers in natural language, the way they’d ask a person.

Founded in 2021, Tyms is an AI accounting platform built around Adam, which is an AI-powered financial accounting assistant and agent designed to transform the way businesses manage their accounting processes. Rather than requiring users to navigate traditional accounting software, Adam is designed to let business owners manage their books via a simple conversation thread and not fill out forms back and forth.

The platform helps business owners and finance teams to automate their entire financial accounting process, including financial reporting, sales management, expense tracking, asset management, inventory control, and contact management. Users can request statements, log transactions, or ask general financial questions in everyday language rather than accounting terminology.

Ibrahim Adepoju, CEO and co-founder of Tyms, said, “Every business owner deserves to know where their money is going, regardless of whether they can afford an accountant. That belief is why we built Tyms. Seedstars is putting it in front of thousands of founders across three continents.”

Adepoju said the partnership addresses an “access gap” rather than a knowledge gap. He argued that most small business owners never set out to become accountants, yet are shut out of loans, investment, and formal lending opportunities because they cannot produce the financial paperwork lenders and investors require. Tyms aims to close that gap with AI and natural language.
